August 2006
Ok to start off with we don't have the jeep
back yet, it went and failed it's MOT 4 weeks ago and we are still no closer
to getting the daft thing fixed, the garage where is resides these days took
it to Aberdeen so that it could go on a diagnostic machine but part way down
to Aberdeen the jeep broke down and had to get towed back to Peterhead where
it still is until they get the silly thing to start.
1st Aug was our 3rd year at Werain Cottage
(doesn't time fly when your having fun)
For the first couple of weeks this month we
was making a new super rabbit hutch to accommodate Fudge and Nougat this
measure's 6'x6'x2' the 2x2 frame work was all free wood from Steve's
workplace the rest was from focus which is external plywood, the felt for
the roof and the weld mesh was also from Focus, here is a photo of the
finished hutch.

It also has stars on the front of the doors
now, just to make it more fun. On the 10th we put the bun's together, Nougat
down the bottom and Fudge up the top with a ladder in the hutch so that they
could meet each other, which did happen over night Fudge had obviously made
the first move and from then on it was love Awwwww bless. I (Tracy) then
made the rabbit run much bigger for them to play in during the daytime
(Steve helped with the plastic rain cover frame work and to mesh the run
itself). Here it is without the rain cover, you can just the bun's in the
left of the photo.

20th Andy & Liz our friends that had just
taken the plunge and moved up to Aberdeenshire from Banbury was it? paid us
a visit ...very nice to see you both at last, hope all is well with the DIY
project you have going on :-)
As for the weather this month well RAIN,
we've had more rain in August than we've had for the last 5 months or so,
but we have had some really nice sunny and hot days too but more rain than
anything.
As for the nesting that Nougat was doing,
well she was been a silly bunny doing all that hard work for nothing,
although she did make a few nests but it was the last one that was the best
one, she had spent 2 days plucking fur from herself to line the nest and
picking hay up in her mouth ready for the so called babies she thought she
was going to have.....here it is with herself sat it the nest

On the 30th we got her spayed and thanks go
out to Jackie our neighbour for driving Trace to the vet with Nougat and
going back for her in the afternoon, Cheers Jackie.
Also thanks to Sharon for taking me to Maud
and shopping.....thanks Shaz nice car by the way :-))
The ducklings are coming on a treat and are
now in the big run in their own run so that the other ducks don't get them,
they are now 7 week old (end of August) with them being in the big run you
can now see them on the camera.
We've also found the fireplace in the
backroom and awaiting Dave the fireman to come and take a wee look at it to
see if the pot belly stove with fit in ok, in the meantime Trace is wire
brushing the stove then spray paint it ready to install it, more on this
next month.
Ok folks that's all for August
No Deaths, no births but still have a dodgy
car
See you all in September, when hopefully
we'll have the Jeep back
